ALLNUTRITION SODIUM BUTYRATE SR is food for special medical purposes in the form of prolonged-release capsules, which are a source of butyric acid, which is the basic energy material for the gastrointestinal epithelium.

The preparation is intended for dietary management of irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal flora disorders and intestinal infections, inflammatory diseases of the intestinal mucosa, and functional gastrointestinal disorders (chronic constipation, flatulence, abdominal pain, diarrhea and indigestion).

The daily portion provides as much as 600 mg of butyric acid, which has anti-inflammatory properties and supports the functioning of the digestive system.

THE ROLE OF BUTARY ACID
The main effect of butyric acid is based on its anti-inflammatory effect, which is due to its ability to inhibit the secretion of inflammatory mediators in the intestinal mucosa. Additionally, butyric acid is the main energy substance for the cells of the large intestine (colonocytes), nourishes them and ensures proper functioning. Moreover, it reduces the risk of leakage of the intestinal barrier, which reduces allergies and inflammation.

The use of innovative microencapsulation technology, unlike ordinary forms of butyric acid, protects against absorption in the upper gastrointestinal tract, which allows the active ingredient to be delivered to the small and large intestines. The release process therefore takes place along the entire length of the intestine.

Butyric acid has many health benefits, including:

What are micropellets?
Micropellets are small microparticles "closed" in a capsule. Thanks to them, the substance from such preparations is released slowly and successively, which makes it possible to obtain and maintain the optimal concentration of the active substance for a longer time. We then prevent unfavorable (and often unpredictable) fluctuations in the level of active substances, making the entire dietary supplementation process very stable and effective.

The special cellulose coating used in the micropellets additionally protects the active substance. This coating is several dozen times thinner than sugar coating, but it plays the same role. It protects the active substances contained in the core against, e.g., light, oxygen, moisture, and provides the person taking the preparation with comfort in taking the supplement by making it easier to swallow and masking the unpleasant taste of the active substances.

In the case of quickly dissolving coatings, it is not possible to obtain the so-called modified release of the active substance. The effect of modified release - delayed (e.g. in the small intestine or slowed down along the entire length of the digestive tract), which determines the achievement of a prolonged effect, is only possible for coatings that are soluble in an alkaline environment or insoluble but have diffusion properties, i.e. micropellets.

BETAINE is an amino acid - it is also known as trimethylglycine (TMG). It is a derivative of glycine, the simplest protein amino acid. TMG was first isolated in the 19th century from sugar beets (Beta vulgaris - Beta is the Latin generic name for beets). This is where its common name betaine comes from, which over time became used to describe a whole class of compounds of this type, and TMG itself was distinguished as glycine betaine.

Betaine's task and its occurrence:

Its most important task is to help maintain proper homocysteine metabolism. The beneficial effect occurs when consuming 1.5 g of betaine per day.

TMG (anhydrous betaine) can be produced in the human body in limited amounts, but to replenish its supply, it is good to choose appropriate products. Rich sources of trimethylglycine are mainly goji berries, wheat bran and germ, raw and canned beets, spinach, and seafood - shrimp and mussels.

Pepsin and its role:

Pepsin - the active form of pepsinogen, an enzyme secreted by glandular cells (master cells) of the stomach. Pepsin is a component of gastric juice. Pepsinogen is converted into pepsin under the influence of the acidic content of gastric juice.
